Can I Use Only Patreon?
Yes, you can choose to use only Patreon to run your membership on your site. All membership-related features will work for members who come to your site through Patreon. You can also use only on-site memberships in the same way. If you choose to use both, all features keep working for all members. You can choose to use either type of membership or enable both at any time and all membership features would function seamlessly for existing members. If you turn off one membership type, new members from that type (on-site or Patreon) would not be able to become members and access their membership benefits at your site. You can enable that membership type again to enable memberships and membership benefits for those specific members. You can turn on either of the two membership types on or off any time.
Is There A Fee On My Patreon Earnings If I Also Turn On On-Site Memberships?
No, your Patreon payments do not get an extra fee applied to them if you turn on on-site memberships. The 2% platform fee and 3.5% total payment processing + tax detection fees apply to only on-site payments from your on-site members when you turn on on-site memberships.
Do Changes to On-site Tiers, Members, Memberships, Content That I Make On My Site Affect My Patreon?
No, all changes that you make to your on-site tiers, on-site members and their memberships and all your on-site content gating stay local at your site. The changes you make at your site do not affect your Patreon.
What If I Change My On-Site Tiers That Are The Same With My Patreon Tiers?
Upon activation, Member Plugin Pro populates your on-site tiers with the tiers from your Patreon for your convenience so that you can have a base to start customizing your on-site tiers from. But the changes you make to your on-site tiers still do not affect your Patreon tiers.
Will My Members Get Double-Charged?
Your Patreon members can unlock your on-site content and use your on-site membership features with their Patreon membership without needing to become members at your site. But if you have content or membership benefits that require a custom tier at your site that is not available at Patreon, they may need to become on-site members if their Patreon pledge does not cover the requirements of your on-site custom tier.
Can My On-Site Members Use My Patreon?
Your on-site members are entirely local and they can’t access or use your Patreon unless they choose to be your members also at Patreon.
Can My Members Choose to Be Both On-Site and Patreon Members?
Your members can choose to be your members both at Patreon and on your site. The highest entitlement/tier level they have would be used in determining what membership benefits and content they would get access to.
Can I Lock A Content Or Membership Benefit For An Individual Tier So That Only Members From That Tier Can Directly Access It?
Currently no. The highest pledge/membership of a member would be used in unlocking content. However exact-tier locking is an upcoming feature and when it’s out, you will be able to require specific tiers for content and membership benefits. Ie, you will be able to have two, separate $5 tiers and lock content from each separately. A member would need to be a member from both tiers if he or she wants to access content from both tiers.
