Member Plugin Pro’s partial post gating is now a proper WordPress block.
If you’ve been using Member Plugin Pro‘s shortcodes to partially gate your posts, you already know how powerful it is to make parts of a post visible only to paying members. The problem? Shortcodes in the block editor are clunky – you can’t see what’s inside them, you can’t nest designed content, and it’s easy to break them.
That changes with Member Plugin Pro 2.0.3. Partial post gating is now a proper WordPress block.
Same concept, vastly better experience
The new Member-only Content block lets you wrap any section of a post or page and restrict it to members who meet a minimum membership level. Just like the shortcode did – but now it’s visual, intuitive, and fully integrated into the block editor.
You can see exactly which content is gated while you’re editing. Add multiple member-only blocks in a single post. And set the required membership level right from the block’s settings sidebar.
Nest any block inside it
Here’s where the block really shines: you can add any WordPress block inside it. Images, galleries, videos, columns, embeds, custom HTML – your member-only content can be as richly designed as your public content. The old shortcode could only wrap plain text and basic formatting. The block removes that limitation entirely.
Works with on-site memberships and Patreon
Set the required membership level as a dollar amount in the block settings. Members who meet it see the content. Everyone else sees an unlock banner – or nothing at all, if you enable Silent mode.
Works with on-site memberships, Patreon, or both.
How to use it
- Open a post or page in the block editor.
- Insert the “Member only Content” block.
- Set the required membership level.
- Add any blocks you want inside it.
- Add any block/content you want to be public after it
