We’ve updated our Terms of Service to reflect some new features coming to our plugins, including on-site memberships feature and payments with Stripe Connect integration. We want to walk you through what changed, why it matters, and what you need to do.
What’s Changing
We’ve added two new sections to our Terms of Service:
- Payment Processing and Financial Responsibility – This outlines your responsibilities when you use payment gateways like Stripe through our plugins. It also covers our new 2% platform fee, which applies to transactions processed through Stripe accounts connected to our platform.
- Third-Party Payment Services – This explains how CodeBard interacts with payment processors, and what obligations those processors may place on us as a platform.
We’ve also made a few other updates to modernize the document and better reflect how our business operates. Nothing has changed about how we handle your data or your privacy.
Why We’re Making These Changes
We’re introducing a Stripe Connect integration that lets you connect your own Stripe account directly to your membership site. This gives you more control over your payments and faster access to your funds. With that integration come certain legal responsibilities, and our updated terms make sure everyone is on the same page.
The 30-Day Notice Period
The updated terms take effect on 4 July 2026 . That gives you a full month to review them. There’s no rush.
What You Need to Do
If you’re happy with the changes:
Nothing. The updated terms will apply automatically from the effective date. If you choose to use the new on-site memberships feature with the Stripe Connect integration, you’ll be asked to confirm your acceptance when you connect your account.
If you’d prefer not to continue under the new terms:
You can cancel your account and stop using our services before the effective date. You won’t be charged any penalties, and we’ll process any refund you’re entitled to under our refund policy. Just get in touch with us at contact us.
If you continue using our plugins after the effective date, we’ll take that as your acceptance of the updated terms.
Questions?
We know legal updates aren’t the most exciting reading. If anything is unclear or you’d just like to chat about what these changes mean for you, reply to this email or contact us. We’re happy to help.
